民国八年，美丽如画的桐城溪口，寄傲山庄里住着清贫却快乐的一家人，落魄乐人萧鸣远对子女管教严格又慈爱，大女儿雨凤（蒋勤勤饰）、二女儿雨鹃（朱茵饰）已经是婷婷玉立的少女了。这天雨凤和归程中的展家大少爷展云飞（庹宗华饰）邂逅，云飞没有表明自己的身份，二人堕入爱河。 展家二少云翔（焦恩俊饰）因为妻子天虹曾经喜欢过云飞，对云飞一直心怀不满和妒忌，为了报复云飞，当他向萧鸣远索债不成时一把火烧了寄傲山庄，萧鸣远被活活烧死。从此愤怒的火焰就燃烧在雨鹃的心中。 心痛的云飞毫不犹豫地伸出援手照顾萧家五个孤苦伶仃的孩子，正当雨凤决定接受云飞的感情时，云翔出现并揭穿了云飞的真正身份。雨凤痛不欲生，云飞为了重获芳心付出了更多的努力。而人面兽心的云翔竟然试图对雨鹃施暴，忍无可忍的雨鹃开始实施复仇计划，她利用自己的美貌想借他人之手，然而终归是天真的雨鹃能算到江湖老狐狸的心机吗？苍天有泪，苍天也有爱。。The story of the Korean War is told through powerful color imagery, dramatic musical score and sound-scape.
